3M 8902 Polyester Tape, Blue, 2 in x 72 yd, 3.4 mil. A durable polyester tape ideal for masking in high temperature applications. Adheres well to silicone coated surfaces. This is a thicker version of 3M 8901 which is more durable. Commonly used as a protective tape during shipping and handling operations. Clean removal after powder coating. Performs in termperatures ranging from -60ºF (-50ºC) to 400ºF (204ºC). Use for splicing of silicone liners, films and papers. Hold parts or vacuum bags during composite bonding. Use as a flash breaker in metal bonding processes where the excess epoxy flows on the tape. Mask metal surfaces in acid or caustic chemical milling baths. Provides a good barrier for the separation of dissimilar metals.
